LZ direkt TOP-INNOVATION 2026

For the fifth time, the trade publication Lebensmittel Zeitung direkt is awarding a prize for outstanding innovations in food retail in Germany. In previous years, it was known as the ‘LZ direkt Innovation Cup’, but this year it is being held for the first time under the new name LZ direkt TOP-INNOVATION. To determine the winners, the market research institute NielsenIQ BASES analysed thousands of new products that have made it onto food retail shelves over the past year and a half.
Auswahlkriterien
The winners of the LZ direkt TOP INNOVATION 2026 award not only impressed with their innovation, but also achieved an outstanding product launch.
The TOP INNOVATION has demonstrated sustained success:
  • more than €1 million in sales in the first year
  • average weekly sales in the second year are at least 90% of the average weekly sales in the first year after launch
  • the repurchase rate is more than 20%


The new winners will be officially announced on 2 March 2026:
in the LZ direkt issue 03/26 and on the Website www.lzdirekt.de
